KABOWEI SEINGBEI FESTIVAL; OUR CULTURE, OUR IDENTITY
The Chairman of Kabowei Seingbein cultural festival, Chief Dr Chris Ekiyor has described the festival as an annual event among the Kabowei people of Delta and Bayelsa state showcasing the rich cultural heritage and identity of the people.
Speaking on the 2019 edition which comes up in Patani, from the 6th-14th April 2019, Chief Dr Chris Ekiyor who is also the Ezonebedowei of Kabowei kingdom traced the eroding cultural values of some communities to ‘modernization’, especially among the crop of the present generation without respect to their roots. He advised that a reorientation of the mindset of the people is necessary to avert the ugly trend for the sake of the future generation, who would not have any history of their culture.

The festival is expected to attract kabowei Sons and Daughters from all works of life as well as tourists.
